Emergency Messenger and Building Messenger*

We have the ability to send emergency messages to all parents/guardians through an email message, text message*, and voice message. This provides a quick way for you to receive a message in the event of a building lock-down, emergency dismissal/cancellation, or information that needs to be shared with you quickly from the Superintendent’s office.

Before you can receive text messages* or voice messages, you must have a Parent Portal account and will need to select the options you would like. Emergency Messenger Instructions are available for more information. 

School Alerts

Iowa School Alerts has changed to GovDelivery. If you would like to be notified directly when classes are cancelled, you can sign up for this free notification service provided by the State of Iowa. If you were signed up for Iowa School Alerts in the past you will need to sign up again for the new GovDelivery system. Western Dubuque Schools is a participant in the program which means you can sign up to receive free email and/or text message notification when classes for our district will be dismissing early, started late or cancelled. To register for this free service, go to their signup page. 

*Western Dubuque Schools does not charge for text messages but your cell provider may have a

texting fee. If applicable, the user is responsible for all text message costs.
