We filled our hallways to recognize the graduating seniors who once walked the hallways of Farley Elementary as kids! Congratulations to the Class of 2025!






This week our 2nd graders and preschool classes went on their field trips. Both groups went to Miracle League Park, and our 2nd graders also went to the Mississippi River Museum. Our FES PTO makes all of these field trips possible. We are incredibly appreciative of their support.

Our fifth graders went to Four Mounds to participate in many team building activities including the ropes course. Thanks to FES PTO for making this field trip possible. #wdbqschools








Bobcat Service Day 2025: Today with the partnership with WDHS and DMS, we were able to serve our building and surrounding communities. We completed projects for our school, University of Iowa clinics, Dubuque Humane Society, City of Farley, local nursing homes and other businesses in the area. #wdbqschools

This week we celebrated our April and July birthdays at Birthday Breakfast. Each student who celebrates a birthday is able to invite a guest to school to join them for breakfast. Thank you to our Farley Elementary PTO for their support. #wdbqschools
This month at our Bobcat Way assembly, we recognized students for doing their best. Our paraprofessionals who support students handed out certificates to students who they have observed doing their best at Farley Elementary. #wdbqschools

Last week our fourth graders traveled to the University of Dubuque to participate in the Go The Distance event. This event is designed for students to participate in physical fitness and sportsmanship with all fourth graders from the district. #wdbqschools

Congratulations to our 5th grade band students who performed solos at Sole & Ensemble Contest on Tuesday at Drexler Middle School. McCartney, Claire, Maya, Melody, Nora and Natalie all performed a solo and received superior and highly superior ratings. Way to go! #wdbqschools

As the school year winds down, here are the final academic dates for students in Western Dubuque:
May 15 – Last day for seniors
May 16 – Graduation practice for seniors
May 21 – Last day for 3-day preschool (1-hour early dismissal)
May 22 – Last day for 4-day preschool
May 23 – Last day for TK–11th grade students (2-hour early dismissal)

We are having our annual Penny War competition to raise funds for our Bobcat Service Day projects. Thank you for your support!

We finished up with our Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress, ISASP, testing in our 3rd - 5th grade. These tests are given once a year to show student performance in the areas of reading, writing, language, math and science. Students were well prepared with their test preparation, morning activities, and positive note! Way to work hard! #wdbqschools
Mark your calendars for our Spring Music Concert!

Last week the Kindergarten students enjoyed learning about cowboys and cowgirls. They ended the week by dressing up and riding the horses they made earlier in the week. They had so much fun!
